שִׁ֗יר לַֽמַּ֫עֲל֥וֹת
A Song of Degrees.
אֶשָּׂ֣א עֵ֭ינַי אֶל־הֶהָרִ֑ים
“I will lift my eyes to the mountains:
מֵ֝אַ֗יִן
From where
יָבֹ֥א עֶזְרִֽי׃
will my help come?”

עֶ֭זְרִי מֵעִ֣ם יְהוָ֑ה
“My help is from Jehovah:
עֹ֝שֵׂ֗ה
Who made
שָׁמַ֥יִם וָאָֽרֶץ׃
heaven and earth;”
3
אַל־יִתֵּ֣ן לַמּ֣וֹט רַגְלֶ֑ךָ
“He will not give your foot to tottering:
אַל־יָ֝נ֗וּם
He is not drowsy,
שֹֽׁמְרֶֽךָ׃
He watches over you;”
4
הִנֵּ֣ה לֹֽא־יָ֭נוּם וְלֹ֣א יִישָׁ֑ן
“Behold He will not slumber, nor sleep:
שׁ֝וֹמֵ֗ר
He is watching over
יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
Israel;”
5
יְהוָ֥ה שֹׁמְרֶ֑ךָ
“Jehovah is watching over you:
יְהוָ֥ה צִ֝לְּךָ֗
Jehovah is your protection,
עַל־יַ֥ד יְמִינֶֽךָ׃
At you right hand!”
6
יוֹמָ֗ם הַשֶּׁ֥מֶשׁ לֹֽא־יַכֶּ֗כָּה וְיָרֵ֥חַ בַּלָּֽיְלָה׃
“By day the sun shall not smite you,
nor the moon by night;”
7
יְֽהוָ֗ה יִשְׁמָרְךָ֥ מִכָּל־רָ֑ע
“Jehovah, He will protect you from all evil;
יִ֝שְׁמֹ֗ר
He watches over
אֶת־נַפְשֶֽׁךָ׃
Your soul;”
8
יְֽהוָ֗ה יִשְׁמָר־צֵאתְךָ֥ וּבוֹאֶ֑ךָ
Jehovah, He shall preserve your comings and your goings;
מֵֽ֝עַתָּ֗ה
From now,
וְעַד־עוֹלָֽם׃
And evermore!”
